Any parent has heard this familiar refrain. Usually, it’s in a situation where the child absolutely, 100% CAN do the task. You know, something like…
“Pick up your shoes.”
“Give that to me, please.”
Or the classic, “Tell your friend you’re sorry.”
But here’s the thing. Sometimes, the little voice inside your head and mine sounds just like that toddler. We have goals, ambitions, dreams. We even craft a plan to get there. But before we can get too far down the road, sometimes even before we take that first step, it happens.
So we wait. And plan. And plan. And wait. And we miss yet another opportunity.
Can I let you in on a secret?
Let me say that again for the back row.
Of course you can, and I can, too.
How many dreams lay by the wayside of your life, discarded by a person who was defeated before she began? How many paths unexplored, simply because a mountain loomed in the distance?
Attack the mountain with everything in you. Push hard. You can do it!
